Zhujiajiao Water Town was a highlight we didn’t expect — Celine navigated us through the winding canals and ancient stone bridges like a local, sharing fascinating stories about the town’s history that we never would have discovered on our own. She knew exactly the best spots to explore and the right times to visit to avoid the crowds.
At Yu Garden and the Bazaar, Celine’s insider knowledge was invaluable — she helped us find authentic gems among the stalls and gave us the cultural context that made everything so much more meaningful. And the Bund at the end of the day? Breathtaking. Celine timed our visit perfectly.
What truly set this tour apart was Celine’s genuine passion for sharing her city. Christos HOct 26, 2025Easy Peasy TravelIt’s so easy and a no nonsense booking you’ll think you’re getting tricked… but they come through! Painlessly booked a ticket and had a great time in China with these guys; great way to access the rail networks and guarantee your trip timing without having to wait in line or miss something because it fills up fast. The guide and advice for travel from the site was spot on, too, and email communication was great.

Scott LancasterOct 22, 2025Travel China Guide successfully booked…Travel China Guide successfully booked us tickets for a party of 3 during goldenweek for the following: Temple of heaven, Forbidden City, Summer Palace and Tiananmen Square. With all but the exception of Tiananmen square we got the original dates and times requested. For Tiananmen Square, they kindly worked with me to find an alternative date and time that worked for us due to the high ticket demand. They were a pleasure to deal with and very responsive via WhatsApp.

You will need to have cash, not many places accept card. May be use Wise or master card to draw cash.
Try to travel with smaller luggages because the train rides in and out with big luggages can be hard. You can place the Small bags on the overhead compartment.
Bring roll on deodorant, one of the train ride security confiscated spray deodorants and opened alcohol.

I had an absolutely wonderful trip in Beijing, Xian and Shanghai.My experience as a solo traveller was made truly memorable. I have met kind and caring people from different countries. The 3 hotels where I stayed was amazing with nice food and good environment. The hotel staff are polite and accomodating. I can honestly say, almost everynight I am dreaming, I am still in China. Wendy Lee, my Tour Consultant is exceptionally good.Even the other members in the group says, if ever they will go back in China they will contact Wendy. Highly recommended. Travel China Guide organized our individual 16-day trip to China on the route Beijing - Shanghai - Luoyang - Shaolin - Xi'an - Chongqing - Zhangjiajie - Guilin - Yangshuo - Hong Kong. We were 4 women and relied entirely on Emily Xin's professional experience to draw up the itinerary, purchase train tickets between the cities, tours and book hotels. Emily was always available and answered all our questions extremely quickly and accurately, gave very accurate instructions and information. Special thanks to Emily, as she made our trip a reality and a dream come true. Thank you Emily! The hotels were wonderful (4 stars) with nice breakfasts, suitable for Europeans; the cars were new, comfortable and clean, water was provided, and the drivers were smiling and polite. I would like to specially thank to all ours guides - Selina, Bonnie, Kelly, Tracy, Yolin and Kim, who were with us and made our stay in China charming. I would like to take this opportunity to personally thanks Wendy for arranging such a wonderful trip to China. Both Guido and I truly enjoyed every moment of it.
In hindsight, we might have made a few minor adjustments to the itinerary and allowed for a bit more rest time. However, as a first-time visit to China, the program was excellent and offered a great balance of experiences—from the historical highlights of Beijing and Xi’an, to the stunning natural beauty of Guilin, Zhangjiajie, and the panda base in Chengdu, and finally the vibrant cosmopolitan life of Shanghai.
We were especially impressed with the professionalism and friendliness of the local guides and drivers. We would highly recommend Travel China Guide, and you personally, to anyone considering a trip to China.

It was an amazing experience! Everything was wonderful! The hotels were all very nice, the guides were all very knowledgeable, and all the logistics went smoothly. We particularly appreciated the guides in Jaipur (Ganesh) and Agra (Ali), who were very informative about all the history of the places we visited and knew the best places to take photos. Our driver in the north, Anand Sharma, took very good care of us and was an excellent driver. The restaurants we went to were all excellent!
The hotel in Goa turned out to be perfect! There were actually a number of restaurants right off the property that didn't show up on Google maps, and we really enjoyed our free day there. We were also glad we added a day in Mumbai. It gave us more time to explore the city.

Excellent Tour and Vacation. Have been delayed in responding as it has been very busy and a bit stressful since we have returned. But the tour was so good that we eventually knew that we would find the time to respond. Our trip was unusual as I ended up taking a big fall in Thimphu on the first day in Bhutan. Our guide and driver were the best you could possibly have under the circumstances. I was brought to the emergency room of the largest hospital in Bhutan and was given such excellent care that our trip continued the next day as planned. HB tours is an excellent tour company and our guide Ram and our driver Poob were the absolute best. We did not know how to properly thank them so we took your recommended gratuity and doubled it. Because of my fall, they recommended that I not attempt Tigers Nest (but my wife did go). They arranged for me to rent a helicopter (one of only two in Bhutan available at the time) and we saw Tigers Nest up close from the air. in short, this was the second outstanding tour from Travel China Guide Tours and you definitely be used again on our planned revisit to China as well as other destinations in Asia. Thank you again for arranging such a memorable tour.

It was my first time in China and what a great experience!
Communication was very good overall but especially before the tour, Nicole responded to all my queries and relayed all the relevant information clearly in a timely manner.
The guides and drivers were all very professional, especially Candy in Beijing with a very pleasant way of explaining history.
The hotels were also very good especially in Beijing & Xi'an, minor issues in Shanghai but resolved very quickly.
Overall a well organised small group tour and I am happy with the services provided.

For Europeans in general and for Spaniards in particular China is a most fascinating country. There is so much to visit and to know! This was, of course, a limited tour, but it included the capital, Beijing, and three important cities: Xi'an, Guilin and Tianjin. In all of them there are important historical and touristic sites to visit. I am sure there other cities in China which are also important, Shanghai among others, but the four cities we visited this time are second to none. In Guilin, the Lee River Tour is a must. In Xi'an, the terracota warriers' Museum. And Tianjin has aldo important things to see. We were very pleased with the vicit to the TV Tower, which gives an impressive perspective. The British quartier and its Stadium are also very worthwhile to see. In Beijing the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace and the Great Wall are unavoidable. We were very pleased with the support that the China Travel Agency provided. It was effective, efficient and at reasonable prices. An agency like that is essential for independent travellers, as we were.
